as the crow flies...jeffrey archer...

"As The Crow Flies" is another of Jeffrey archer's typical rags to riches story of the saga of Charlie Trumper whom, after his grandfather's death, takes over running of his fruit cart in the streets of London during the first few years of the 20th century. from the smallfruit barrow, charlie's next step is becky's baker shop...n then he leaves it all to go fyt in the 1st world war...n he returns only to find his small empire still runnin though not very succesfully in becky's able hands..n frm there its a saga...romance, thrill and fun all mixed in the rite amount..remember there are so many lovely characters like daphne, daniel and the charmin young lady called sally..and as for the the masala part, it is added by Guy Trentham and his snob of a mother, who is also the greatest villian in this story and in one sense it is as much her story as it is charlie's...

now the book is lyk sooo long...!!! he cud hav cut short much of it..but its written in a very different format altogher...the book looks at life frm many many angles...u knw jus lyk u watch a film...theres the villian's story given as much importance as the protagonist's..and its arranged very chronologically...no lookin baks u knw...

SO i give it a 3.75 upon 5 !!! go ahead and enoy..cheers!!!
Enjoy!

cecilia ahern's rosie dunne

this is the amusing story of Alex Stewart n Rosie Dunne...best frnds for lyf...ppl hu grew up together frm skool...hu shared every bit of lyf together...all was gud n great till alex moves to boston followin his dad's transfer n ends up in harvard med. skoo... not a bad place to end up..huh???

yea so goin bak to the story... rosie is all set to own the world's finest hotel...she applies to boston uni n secures an admission there...in the meanwhile..her skool lyf gets over n the debs come around...n thats wen alex fails to make it to the debs n things take a turn to the worst...[or gud??] n all their dreams n plans fall ....

leavin all the essential details...wat basically happens nex is rosie becomes a mother at the age of 19 and becoms busy changin dirty nappies wen her frnz are busy partyin hard nd being at their best...but still she learns to love katie n katie becomes the world for her... n there comes the adorable sweet n cheeky ruby [n her salsa classes] to her lyf...along with many more thoroughly entertainin characters u will never forget.. lyk steph, pierre, phil, kevin, greg, brian the whine, sally, slutty bethany, big mouth casey, gary,... not to forget rosie's parents...

despite all this distance in tym n space...alex n rosie remain best frnds thru cross-continental moves, marriages, parenthood, family dramas, professional triumphs...courtesy to internet, email, chattin!! thats a kool [believable???] thing aint it??

n slowly they watch the years pass by and remain jus the best of frnds for close to 50 years...okie...these ppl are soul mates...but romance fails to see the lyt of the day cos fate had a log of bad timing in store for them...[or is it the failure of internet to decipher human feelings...]n yea...they remain wat ahern says two ships passin each other at nite...its amazin how bad timing drives these long fifty years of life...they never seem to find the right tym or place...!!! hahahaha..don ask me y i am laffin...!!!

at the end of the story...they realise their feelings n unite n they live happily forever...end of the story!!! [man i thot an era passed...]

on the whole Rosie Dunne is a thoroughly funny yet touching book..its not mushy but its all about every damn think u can think about...rangin frm hyperactive frnds to an obese salsa king to overpopulating brothers to adorable daughters to to thwarted luv n missed opportunities to the utility [or the lack of it] of internet...thats virtually everything under the sun...huh!!!

hats off to dear Miss Ahern, for such a modest n page turningly addictive read...the best thing about the book is that it suits my blog title...so many lives unfolded thru a series of notes, letters, IMs, e-mails, and telephone calls...so nex mission in my lyf..gettin hold of a private copy of the book!!!

DISCLAIMER: ryt this is for ur kind info... all is not glossy n glittery...i think the book fails miserably in makin readers believe most part of wats happenin there...but for ppl lyk me huz born to laff away their tym n then blog about it...its jus the ryt pick!!! so thats the general idea...read, laff n dont ask questions!!!

christina rosenthal..

this is the last story in jeffrey archer's short story collection 'a twist in the tale'
and the most beautiful among 'em...
the story has many equally adorable plots woven into it to make it an everlasting memory..and at the end of it...u feel the pain of each and every character in you!!!
the story is as much about the special love and affection between an old rabbi and his only son as it is about he and his lady love..and their children..
itz a never endin dream and love as they say is not confined to life on earth...
the story has its own share of history and how people were intolerant to other races and it teaches us that some things will never come back...and that this is such a short life to be lost in fights and stuff...i found this an irresistible story..so would you..itz basically a romantic story but itz not romantically romantic...ah..i cant eva talk bout it...but all of ye pls pls do read it...!!!
